Welcome to the world of CinnEMon!!
My name is Em, and I have decided that August 2011 is the perfect time to embark on not one, but two new journeys.
The first journey is a month of veganism. This is not a journey I am diving headfirst into, I have been a vegetarian for over a year and half. I am constantly researching and asking questions. I feel as if this is the right move for me mentally and physically. As of right now, my plan is to complete a full month of eating as a vegan, and hopefully come September 1st I will be prepared to fully commit. It has only been just over 3 days, but I feel happy and healthy about my decision. I think part of the happiness stems from the fact that I am eating a plant based diet (pun intended) and not one that is negatively effecting the lives of animals. Also, through vegetarianism I know my body functions better while eating mostly plants. These are my personal feelings, and in no way would I preach these to people, or be offended by anyone's personal eating choices. Most of my friends, and everyone in my family eat the "American diet" and I love them just the same.
The second journey...if you can not guess...is to blog. Specifically blog about my first journey. I have been an avid blog reader for about two years. Reading blogs has helped me delve into the world of healthier eating, explore different "diets" and how to form my own personal healthiest eating. They have also helped in the realm of exercise and fitness. Letting me find and explore new routines, whether cardio or strength, and find what works best for me at a certain time. Last, but certainly not least, reading blogs has helped my mental health regarding body image, knowing and seeing a wide range of healthy people and that we are all beautiful. I hope that writing my own blog helps me expand my exploration of health and fitness, and be able to connect more with current bloggers and blog readers.
So here we go, this cinnamon spice journey begins here.
